Information we collect
RioPDF Tools is designed to keep your documents on your device. We do not operate a cloud storage service for your PDF files.
- Documents you import: PDFs and converted files are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad unless you choose to export or share them.
- Analytics and crash reports: We use third-party analytics and crash reporting services to monitor app stability, diagnose crashes, and improve performance. These providers may receive device type, operating system version, app version, and crash logs. They do not receive the contents of your PDF documents.
- AI features: If you enable AI features and provide your own API key, text excerpts from your documents may be sent to your chosen AI provider to generate summaries or answers. We do not store your API key on our servers.
- Purchases: Subscription and purchase information is processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive limited purchase status information needed to unlock premium features.
- Support correspondence: If you email us, we receive the information you include in your message, such as your email address and the content of your request.
How we use information
- Provide core PDF reading, annotation, signing, and conversion tools
- Maintain your library, bookmarks, and reading preferences on device
- Process subscriptions and restore purchases
- Diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and improve reliability
- Respond to support requests you send to us
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only in these cases:
- With analytics and crash reporting providers that help us operate and improve the app
- With Apple when you make in-app purchases
- With AI providers you configure when using optional AI features
- When required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public
Data retention
Documents and annotations remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Analytics and crash data is retained according to our providers' policies and only as long as needed for troubleshooting and product improvement. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to resolve your request.
Your choices
- Delete documents from the app at any time
- Disable or avoid AI features if you do not want text sent to a third-party provider
- Manage App Store subscriptions in your Apple ID settings
- Contact us to request access to or deletion of support correspondence we hold
Canadian privacy rights
If you are in Canada, we handle personal information in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) where it applies. You may contact us to ask about the personal information we hold about you, request correction, or raise a concern about our privacy practices.
Children's privacy
RioPDF Tools is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information handled by the app. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
International users
Rio Reply is based in Canada. If you use RioPDF Tools from outside Canada, your information may be processed in Canada and in other countries where our service providers operate, in accordance with applicable local laws and this policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
